In that year the Huddersfield Giants Rugby League team was founded. Their football team Huddersfield Town AFC was founded later in 1908 and at present holds a place in the Premier League (2017), Huddersfield won the FA Cup in 1922 (at Stamford Bridge) and 3 successive league titles in the 1920's.
