In that year the Huddersfield Giants Rugby League team was founded. Their football team Huddersfield Town AFC was founded in 1908 and is at present in the Premier League (2017), they were the winners of the FA Cup in 1922 (1-0 against Preston North End) and three league titles on the trot.
