About Huddersfield: An enormous and historic market town located in the county of West Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom, Huddersfield today is the eleventh largest town (not including cities) in the United Kingdom, being home to a population of around 168,000. The Huddersfield of Huddersfield has a long tradition of sporting excellence and is the home and birthplace of Rugby League, which took place at the George Hotel on August 29th 1895, when 22 clubs broke away from the RFU (Rugby Football Union). In that year the Huddersfield Giants Rugby League team was established. Their football team Huddersfield Town AFC was founded soon after in 1908 and at present holds a place in the Premier League (2017), Huddersfield won the FA Cup in 1922 (beating Preston North End 1-0) and were also famous for winning three league titles on the trot.
