Review of Huddersfield: A historic and huge market town located in the county of West Yorkshire, England, in the UK, Huddersfield is currently the UK's eleventh largest town, boasting a population of somewhere near 168,000. The town of Huddersfield is positioned roughly halfway between the cities of Manchester and Leeds being about 28 miles to the north-east of Manchester and 20 miles to the south-west of Leeds and it is some 190 miles distance from London.

Huddersfield is the administrative centre for the Kirklees metropolitan borough and is the most populous town in this borough. Huddersfield lies in the valleys of 2 rivers, the Colne and Holme and the confluence of these 2 rivers is just to the south of the town close to the University.

Huddersfied was recorded in the Domesday Book (compiled in 1086) where it was called Odresfeld and Oderesfelt.

The Huddersfield of Huddersfield has a long tradition of sporting excellence and is the birthplace of Rugby League, which occurred at Huddersfield's George Hotel on the 29th August 1895, when 22 clubs split from the RFU. In that year the Huddersfield Giants Rugby League team was established. Their soccer club Huddersfield Town AFC was founded soon after in 1908 and presently holds a place in the Premier League (2017), they won the FA Cup in 1922 (beating Preston North End 1-0) and were also famous for winning 3 league titles on the trot.
