About Huddersfield: A historic and huge market town located in the English county of West Yorkshire, In the United Kingdom, Huddersfield is presently the 11th largest town (not including cities) in the UK, being home to a population of around 168,000. The town of Huddersfield is placed halfway between Leeds and Manchester being about 20 miles south-west of Leeds and 28 miles to the north-east of Manchester and it is 190 miles away from London.

Huddersfield has a proud sporting tradition and is where Rugby League was born, which occurred at the George Hotel in Huddersfield on the 29th August 1895, when twenty two clubs split from the Rugby Football Union in a bitter disagreement over payments to players. In that year the Huddersfield Giants Rugby League team was founded. Their football team Huddersfield Town AFC was founded a few years later in 1908 and is currently in the Premier League (2017), Huddersfield were victorious in the FA Cup in 1922 and also won 3 successive league titles.
